White Diana '08 "Attack of the Lame Gifts"

If you don't know what White Diana is, here is Max Anger (who hosts the party) explaining:

Q: What the shit is a White Dianna party?
A: A White Dianna party is a White Elephant party. A White Elephant party is one where you bring a gift wrapped gift (aka the gift in its duane reade bag) and partygoers take turns opening gifts - or stealing other peoples gifts. Joy, Christmas spirit, and hilarity ensues. Then a little madness. Holiday madness!

Q: Why do you call it a White Dianna?
A: Many, many years ago, ex-gf and succubus maximus Dianna demanded I hosted a White Elephant party... for her friends. Despite all her mustachio-ridden demands (she had a wicked awesome mustache, that no one mentioned until they broke up), I invited my friends too, and we had a blast, and her friends all sucked and brought shit like Barbara Streisand DVDs and other lame ass gifts that all ended up at my place anyhow. The Friends of Max Anger Coalition, however, saved the evening with true holiday debauchery. Now it has become a time honored yearly tradition and one that reminds us of Christmas and the joy of my many, many failed relationships.

So, this year I brought hungry hungry hippos, a pancake scented candle, and a stripper scented candle. Mrs. KTL brought a gift certificate to a sushi restaurant that was hidden within a dead fish, tilapia I believe. The Shonker actually ended up leaving with my gift, and subsequently burned off a chunk of her hair with the stripper candle. But luckily I was there to save the day...and some of her remaining hair. There were other pretty awesome gifts, but mostly pretty lame cause there were A LOT of newbies, who had no idea how to buy for this party. Hopefully next year we can whittle down the guest list and keep only the imaginative ones. Here come the pics, enjoy:

We bought Max Anger some dishes. he had none bc he lives like a hobo.

Gobble gobble

This is why I'm posting so much, is that I'm about 3 months behind in posts. So here is Thanksgiving. We had some people over at max anger's place, and it was a pretty uneventful, low key affair. Though we did have waaaay too much food, but that's the point of Thanksgiving, right? Mrs. KTL made turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, and something else that I can't think of right now. I made mac and cheese and chicken and dumplings (which I'm good at but was a disaster bc I tried a slightly new recipe). Wes brought this amazing almond champagne that you mixed with some port. Whatever it was, it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Max Anger made seafood paella and pies. Activated Charcoal made mashed potatoes and homemade gravy. Annie Duke made some bacon wrapped asparagus and water crest, which were lifesavers because we started the food process so late. So here are the pics. Enjoy:

The Shonker (not pictured) did bring a fruit crisp that was delicious.

I love Mickey Rourke

This is his acceptance speech from the Spirit awards. A little warning some NSFW language, but I think they bleep it out.

Carrot Top and Conan

In honor of Conan leaving the Big Apple for the West Coast, I am putting up my favorite segment in Late Night history. Conan O'Brien with Courtney Thorne-Smith and Norm MacDonald. I remember watching this live in my college dorm room with my roommate Picker, and pissing and shitting myself from laughter. Enjoy...

Taking a ride on the Hershey Highway

Not as gross as the title would suggest. Me and Mrs. KTL went up to visit RBD and his significant other, CLF, in Hershey, PA. That is where she lives and is a good bit closer than State College. We went a little before Thanksgiving, so RBD surprised us with a deep fried turkey. It was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I recommend this to everyone, everywhere....ever. There were also other shenanigans. Here is the proof:

Watching them Georgia Bulldawgs!!!

Prepping the bird

I jumped in on this pic, but RBD did all the marinating, seasoning, and cooking. I was there for moral support and to make sure we had plenty of adult beverages.

Look at that turkey...

Destroyed (and we hadn't even started eating yet)

We also went to the Hershey plant, but I can't find those pictures. You'll just have to imagine all the tomfoolery we got into.

40 lbs of saturated fat

That is what is around my gut area, and one of the reasons why I'm not good at sports at the moment. So here is a link for how I got this way:

this is why I'm fat

A great website dedicated to gluttony. I haven't had a lot to eat on this list, but I will claim "The Hamdog" and "The Luther". Original Atlanta concoctions, from the bowels of Decatur, American classics:

The Hamdog:

The Hamdog is a hot dog wrapped in a beef patty that's deep fried, covered with chili, cheese and onions, and served on a hoagie bun topped with a fried egg and two fistfuls of fries.

The Luther:

Bacon cheeseburger served on a Krispy Kreme bun

So at this place (the now defunct, Mulligan's, RIP), I had my first fried twinkie. And one of the best deserts of all time, smore empanadas. Instead of a meat filling, it had delicious chocolate and marshmallowss, then you deep fry that sucker. Throw some powdered sugar on top...and DAMN! That's good eatin!

Great chart

Found this while perusing the interweb.

I agree with most of it, but here are my bones of contention:
1. Spiderman 1 was way worse than the rating, same with the first X-Men.
2. Back to the Future 2 and 3 are worse than their rating would suggest, even more so for Die Hard 2/3.
3. For the Blade series, I would flip the ratings for 1 and 2
4. The original Batman is waaaay underated same goes for the first Jurassic Park.

Another wedding and a great pic

Here's the great pic first. I know this has been floating around the interweb for a while, but it's still awesome. Though we should destroy her before she kills again. We can cut her head off, drive a stake through her heart, and burn her, then she can find peace.

As for Aubrey and Andrea's wedding, I didn't get a lot of pics cause I was "working" most of the time. I helped with the setup for the ceremony, the ceremony, the change-over for the reception, and did a little dj-ing for the reception (and a shout out for my man, Will, who probably did more work than me).

Overall, pretty fun, but I wish I could've been in on this party, looks like fun. And they did have an open bar, which I'm sure helped with this pic.

I did get in on this one. We are all awesome.

And keep coming back, I should be posting once maybe twice a day for a few days.

Salem, MA

That is where my brother had his wedding. Here are some pics of the city. They burned witches here....they probably deserved it.

It's a hipster witch.... burn her!

Creepy house with cliche gravestones

I see douchey people

I wonder if this place is rent controlled?

Her namesake

So the wedding was held in October so the city was totally decked out in Halloween stuff. It is totally a tourist trap. A pretty and scenic one, but a tourist trap, nonetheless.

listen to this guy announce goal for the Florida Panthers Hockey Club. He's pretty awesome, no Munson, but entertaining nonetheless.
